Players
#55 - Nils Swenson, Varsity Captain
Swenson, pictured with Coach Flaherty, is an Offensive Lineman / Defensive End.  He received the Ken Spellman Defensive Player Award in 2009 and was elected by his teammates to be Captain for the 2010 season.

#11 - Jeff Carpenter
Salem News sports writers Matt Jenkins & Dan Harrison interviewed Jeff Carpenter on the October 22 game against Georgetown.  The Tigers defeated the Royals with a final score of 41-14.  To view Jeff's pre-game interview and print article, click on this link:"Stepping forward:  Ipswich, Georgetown trying to make the turn in CAL small showdown", Salem News, Oct 21, 2010

#22 - Kenny Wing
Commenting on Wing's performance in the Triton game, "The difference in the game ended up being senior Kenny Wing’s 23-yard field goal in the third quarter. Kicking the ball isn’t something Ipswich is known for, so it was a clutch kick from a clutch player, Flaherty said.

“There’s a lot that can go wrong on a field goal and at that point it would have given us a two-score lead,” Flaherty said. “Kenny just stepped up and booted it three quarters of the way up the goal posts. It would have been good from 43 yards. He just had ice water running through his veins. Nothing fazes him.”

#50 - Chris Desmond
Quoting Coach Flaherty on the Newburyport game, "Flaherty saved his highest praise for junior center Chris Desmond. At only 5-feet, 7-inches and 160 pounds, he manhandled the much larger defensive linemen he faced, Flaherty said.

“Chris is the epitome of ‘coachability,’” Flaherty said. “He’s smaller, but his technique is flawless. He stayed on the big guys’ hips, giving them the upper hand even though he was outweighed by 50 or 60 pounds. Every cliche you can think of, he’s it. He’s at every off-season workout. Quite frankly, I wasn’t sure he’d be able to play that position. But instantly, he proved me wrong. He’s just tenacious.”
